Worner, Adeline (Hewitt) Age 100 of Elmira. Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Chemung County Nursing Facility.Adeline was born in Blossburg, Pennsylvania February the 10th, 1913. She is the daughter of the late James and Maryanne “Mame” (Butcher) Hewitt Sr. She is also predeceased by her husband Willard Worner and daughter Sharon Cantliffe. Surviving are her loving grandchildren: Terri (Bill) Seymour of Elmira, Denise (Mark) Ross of Campbell, Garry Cantliffe and Chad West of Pine City; Great grandchildren: Ryan Michael Seymour, Ryan Matthew Cantliffe, and Aarika Seymour all of Elmira, Carly, and Jacob Ross of Campbell; Great Great grandchildren: Alexis and Aubree Cantliffe of Elmira and Son in law: Garry Cantliffe Sr. of Pine City along with several nieces and nephews. Adeline was the last of nine children in her family. Many knew her as the cashier and host at Pierce’s Restaurant, she also worked at the switchboard at Elmira College for many years. She was a devoted member of Park Church and a proud Yankee Fan.Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY Sunday, October 27, 2013 from 12:00PM to 2:00PM. Funeral services celebrating Adeline’s life will follow her gathering at 2:00PM by dear friend and Pastor Skip Reed. Graveside committal prayers will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery at 11:00AM for all those that wish to attend. Those wishing may make donations in Adeline’s name to the charity of one’s choice. The family wishes a heartfelt “Thank You” to the staff of the Chemung County Nursing Facility for the wonderful care during her time there.
