Albert E. "Pete" Peterson A lifelong resident of Pine City, NY Age 87, was born March 22, 1929 in Elmira, the son of the late H. Earl and Mildred (Roy) Peterson passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Pete is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joan (Curren) Peterson; daughters: Tawny (Mike McDonald) Card and Lori Farmer; son: Randy (Kim) Peterson; grandchildren: Kristina (Mikel) Mazlaghani, Kim (Dani) Nicolae, Jenna (Josh) Burt, Amy Farmer, Garrett Peterson; step-grandchildren: Cody, Olivia and Russell Wright, Courtney O'Brien; great grandchildren: Hannah, Silas, Josiah, Emma, Jonathon, Julia, Gavyn and Kaelynn; sisters-in-law: Sharlene Curren and Sharon (Mike) Perkins; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Charles Curren. Pete was a Veteran of the US Army proudly serving his country during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the A & P Plant after many years of dedicated service. He enjoyed refinishing antique furniture in his spare time. His family was of utmost importance to him and he loved his grandchildren. Pete was also an avid NASCAR fan and always rooted for his favorite driver, # 24, Jeff Gordon. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services celebrating his life will follow the visitation at 7 PM. Lay Pastor John P. Knapp will officiate. Interment will take place in the Millerton Cemetery at the convenience of his family.
