Alberta May Monks

Was born October 15, 1911 in Gerardville, PA the daughter of the late Arthur and Augusta (Hughes) Thomas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 3, 2006 at St. Josephs Hospital surrounded by her beloved family at the age of 94. Her son, Stewart Little Lee Rhoades predeceased Alberta. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Gordon L. Monks; beloved, children, Susan (Gary) Silvers of Pine City, NY; Nancy (Gary) Kline of Troy, PA; Gordon Monks and fiance, Gigi Suppa of Frances Town, NH; much loved grandchildren, Christopher Seamon, Michael Seamon (fiance Sherryl Barbosa), Lisanne Sanders (fiance John Yorke); David (Sue) Woughter, Richard (Cari) Woughter; Timothy Monks, Katie Monks; along with 13 adored great grandchildren; nieces, Doris Ernest and Sherry Conover. Alberta was a Veteran of the US Coast Guard and proudly served her country during WW II. She was a registered nurse and retired from BOCES as a teacher. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral Services honoring her life will follow the visitation. (7 PM) Missionary Richard Woughter will celebrate his grandmothers service.
