Aley James White

Age 89 formerly of Kingsley Road Pine Valley, NY and presently of Geneva Street Bath, NY passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2003 at the Ira Davenport Hospital in Bath, NY. He was born February 6, 1914 in Wheeler, NY the son of the late Sherman Norman and Florence Helen (Stewart) White. Aley was preceded in death by his wife, Teressa Marie (Heater) White; son-in-laws, Ronald Strader, William Edmundson and Franklin Lewis. He is survived by his long time friend and companion, Harriet Murphy of Bath, NY; loving children, Patricia Strader of Horseheads, NY; Shirley Edmundson (John Takacs) of Elmira Heights, NY; Aley ?Sonney? (Leila May) White Jr. of Phillipsburg, Montana; Nancy Lewis of Watkins Glen, NY; Steven (Deanne) White of Pine Valley, NY; Vickie (Stephen) Gush also of Pine Valley, NY; beloved grandchildren, Daniel, Ronald, Timothy, Cathy, Janette, Lisa, Sonney, Kim, Ricky, Michael, Michael B., Joel, Teresa, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Shannon, Logan, Kyle and Alicia; along with 37 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews cousins and his dog ?Jasper?. Aley was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers AFL/CIO Local # 832 Rochester, NY. He was a well respected man, an avid sportsman, enjoyed working and tinkering on cars. Aley loved to farm and garden and also loved animals. He was the ?Root? of a large, strong family tree. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc, 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY on Thursday, April 10, 2003 from 3 to 6 PM. Funeral Services will be held there at the conclusion of calling hours. (6:00 PM) The Reverend Howard L. Hunt will officiate. The family will provide their own flowers.
