Alice Brown

Was born August 31, 1928 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Milton McIntosh and Thelma Cowan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility at the age of 81. Her loving husband, Howard K. Brown, grandson, Frankie Fudala, brothers, Edward and Milton and step-father, Guy Cowan predeceased her. She is survived by her beloved children, Jennifer Bunn of Suffolk, VA; Dennis Brown of Gillett, PA; Debra Brown (fiancée Stuart) of Elmira, NY; Todd Brown of Satsuma, Fl; Tamara (Rob) Tyler of Elmira, NY; 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Elaine (Dale) Landon of Elmira, NY; Lois Langdon of Phoenix, AZ; along with several nieces and nephews. Alice retired from the Chemung County License Bureau as a clerk after 20 years of dedicate service. She was a brilliant seamstress making many wedding dresses and dolls. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Above everything else was her family, they were her life! Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. Funeral Services honoring her life will follow the visitation at 5 PM. Lay Pastor John P. Knapp will officiate. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of her family in the Woodlawn Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her beloved Howard.
