Allen F. Bates

Was born January 25, 1927 in Binghamton, NY the son of the late Allen L. and Mable A. (Mosher) Bates passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 8, 2007 at Elcor Health Services at the age of 80. His adored children, Carol Steptoe and Allen Bates predeceased him. Allen is survived by his loving wife and favorite Co-Pilot, Schatz Jeanne and his beloved Micey Katie both at home; beloved Chief JoAnn Glover with husband, John; son-in-law, J. W. Steptoe; grandchildren, Terry (Crystal) Steptoe, Bobby (Monica) Bates, Jesse Bates, Amanda, Toyann, Tara, Kara and Ty Robert all of Texas; great grandchildren, Blaze, Victoria, Natalee, Emmalee, Taya and David; special cousins, Sandi (Brian) Wood and Billy Mosher; along with many flying buddies. At his request there will be no prior calling hours or services. Private interment will take place in the Woodlawn National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The Bates family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the staff and personal of Elcor Health Services and Southern Tier Hospice for the compassion and care they gave to Allen.
