Alverta Marie Comfort

Age 86 of Christian Hollow Rd. Pine City, NY and Elcor Health Services, Horseheads, NY. Alverta went home to angels and her husband of 62 years, Lynn on Tuesday April 22, 2003.She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Lynn & Grace Comfort of Knoxville, TN, Phillip & Peggy Comfort of Pine City, NY, Alan & Lillian Comfort of Pine City, NY, Ronald & Donna Comfort of Elmira, NY, sister; Thelma Tifft of Horseheads, NY, 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Alverta loved listening and dancing to Country and Polka music. She was a very devoted homemaker, mother, and grandmother, famous for her chocolate chip cookies. Along with baking, she loved being around people and working in her flower beds. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira on Friday, April 25, 2003 from 1:00 to 3:00 and 5:00 to 7:00 PM with Funeral and Committal Service there Friday at 7:00 PM.The Reverend Donald Rockwell will officiate. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Elmira, NY.
