Anna Sopp (F.) Hapeman

Was born March 10, 1915 in Elmira Heights, NY the daughter of the late Michael and Fannie (Skorodinski) Sopp.She passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 26, 2006 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility at the age of 91. Her daughter, Betty Crannell; grandson, James Trask; sisters, Kathryn Soper, Mary Dildine and Fannie Card; brothers, John and Sam Sopp predeceased Anna. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Ross L. Hapeman of Elmira Heights, NY; grandson, Gregory (Charity) Crannell of Brainard, MN; sisters, Dorothy (David) Matison of Horseheads, NY; Florence Waters also of Horseheads, NY; Eva (Orvis) Swisher of Beaver Dams, NY; brother-in-law, Rexford Card of Millerton, PA; along with many nieces and nephews. Anna volunteered for the Social Security Administration as a tax preparer for 25 years and also volunteered for the Chemung County Board of Elections. She retired from Westinghouse Corporation after many years of dedicated service. Mrs. Hapeman was a landlord for many properties in the Elmira area, especially the ?Castle? at 615 Columbia Street. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY from 1:00 to 3:00 PM and 5:00 to 7:00 PM. A ?Candle of Remembrance? may be left for the family in obituaries at www.olthof.com
