Age 98, of Horseheads, NY, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2011 at Elcor Health Services, Horseheads, NY. She was born April 4, 1913 in Napanee, Canada the daughter of the late Donald and Laura (Anderson) Gerow. Her loving husband of 65 years, Allen W. Jamieson predeceased his beloved Anna May June 24, 2009. Her brother, Bill Gerow, sisters, Mary Corsaut and Gertrude Georke, brother-in-law, Arthur Jamieson also preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters, Mary van Holsteyn of Cairo, NY, Judy (Wayne) Mercer of Horseheads, NY, and Bonnie (Vince) Silsbee of Horseheads, NY; sons, Richard (Kathy) Jamieson of Horseheads, NY and John (Dianne) Jamieson of Woodbridge, VA; grandchildren, Rita Alexander, Gerry and Joe van Holsteyn, Valerie Mis and Heather Mercer, Michael and Brian Silsbee, Laura Santa Marie, Julie and Katie Jamieson, Maureen and Kelly Jamieson; along with 11 great grandchildren. Other survivors include: brothers, James (Del) Gerow of Palm Harbor, FL and Dr. Richard (Helene) Gerow of Buffalo, NY; sister-in-laws, Rita Gerow of Buffalo, NY and Gerry Jamieson of Walton, NY; along with several nieces, nephews and her second family at Elcor Health Services. Anna retired from the United States Post Office as a postal clerk after several years of dedicated service. She was a past girl scout and cub scout leader. She was a member of theWorcester Methodist Church in Worcester, NY and the Riverside United Methodist Church in Elmira. She was a faithful Sunday School Teacher and a beloved mother to all. She loved to crochet, bake and cook. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Friday, May 6, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held there on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 12:00 (noon), the Reverend Mark Erway will celebrate her services. Interment will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery Horseheads, NY where she will be laid to rest with her beloved Allen.
