Anna E. Mcgonigal

Was born February 17, 1920 in Allport, PA the daughter of the late Michael and Amelia (Benson) Kolivoski, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility at the age of 93.She is survived by her loving children: Evelyn Strong, Ruth Claridge, James (Ann) McGonigal, Alma McCoy (James Anderson) and Robert McGonigal all of Pine City, NY; Les (Pat) McGonigal of Captains Cove, VA; along with 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Bartlett, Helen Mitchell, Margaret Heffernan, Amelia (Robert) Rieter, and Patricia (David) Turick; brother, James Kolivoski; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, James E. McGonigal; brothers, Robert, George, Harry and Michael; sisters, Alma, Ivy and Linda; grandchildren, Scott Judson and Lori McGonigal; sons-in-law, Rod McCoy and Richard Strong; and daughter-in-law, Carla McGonigal.Alma was a faithful member of the Pine City Baptist Church and also a member of the Pine City Volunteer Fire Department Woman's Auxiliary.Often Anna volunteered in the community, especially with Meals on Wheels and various school activities.She crocheted many mittens, scarves, and afghans for others and enjoyed making her beautiful quilts.She took great pleasure in and was proud of her garden as well as her flowers.Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.Funeral services honoring her life will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM.Reverend Horace Stoddard will officiate.She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, James, in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Kathaus, PA on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM.Anna's guestbook may be signed in obituaries at www.olthof.com.
