Anna Louise Shaffer

Age 73, of Horseheads, NY died Tuesday, July 3, at Bethany Manor, Horseheads.Anna was born in Elmira, the daughter of the late Richard and Helen Rose Liberatore. She was predeceased by her husband of over 45 years, Robert A. Shaffer in 2000; a brother, Richard Liberatore, Jr. and two sisters, Mary Smith and Natalie Fraze. Anna is survived by four children; Robert ( Bettie ) Shaffer Jr. of Lawrenceburg, IN, Martin ( Lori) Shaffer of Reading, MA, Cheryl ( Kurt Pelisari) Richards of Monroeville, PA and Scott Shaffer of Arlington, MA; three brothers, Jack ( Arlene) Liberatore, Phil ( Marlene) Liberatore both of Elmira and Patrick ( Sandy) Liberatore of Texas; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Anna was a secretary for Westinghouse Corporation in Horseheads, a homemaker and a wonderful mother and cook who made the greatest chocolate chip cookies ever. She was also a volunteer for the American Heart Association, March of Dimes and Meals on Wheels.Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira on Thursday, July 5, 2007 from 6-8 PM with services to follow at 8 PM with Deacon George Welch officiating. Interment will be on Friday at Woodlawn National Cemetery at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Diabetes Association or a charity of ones choice.
