Anthony F. Ruth

RUTH, Anthony R. Sr.Southport ResidentWas born March 19, 1937 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Martin and Carmella (Peterson) Ruth, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at the Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY at the age of 70. His brother, Martin Ruth predeceased him. He married Norma Seymour April 22, 1961 in Elmira, NY they have celebrated 46 wonderful years of life and love together. His survivors include: his beloved Norma; adored children, Anthony F. (Marie) Ruth Jr. of Pine City, NY; Barbara (Tod) Martin of Liberty, NC; Christina (Michael) Wallace of Matthews, NC; much-loved grandchildren, Ryan Ruth, Dale Nye, Shannon Martin; Alana Martin, Cory Martin; Cassandra Wallace, Jacob Wallace, Matthew Wallace; brother, Samuel (Cheryl) Ruth of Elmira, NY; along with several nieces and nephews. Tony was a dedicated employee of the former Thatcher Glass company, retiring from Anchor Glass with a combined retirement of 40 years. He was a member of the Pine City Sportsman club in his earlier years. He enjoyed camping with his devoted wife and best friend, Norma. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY 14904 on Friday, February 29, 2008 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services honoring his life will be held there on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. Peter & Pauls Cemetery.
