Arlene C. Spencer

Spencer, Arlene C. age 88 of Southport, NY passed away in her sleep, very unexpectedly on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at home. Arlene was born at home in Southport on November 29th, 1927. She was the daughter of the late William and Esther (Brueilly) Clark. Arlene married Clarence D. Spencer on February 2, 1949. They were married for 45 years before Clarence passed on June 28, 1994. Surviving her are her sons: Steven (Ruth) Spencer of Wellsburg, NY and Craig (Kathy) Spencer of Horseheads, NY; two grandchildren: Michelle (Graig) Reeves of Horseheads, NY and Gretchen Spencer (Kyle Pruden) of Odessa, NY; two great grandchildren: Adrianna and Andrew Reeves; several nieces and nephews; sister in law: Elizabeth VanAtta of Golden Glow. A private family funeral service will be held at their convenience.Arlene is a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Southport. She lived on the family’s land her whole life. Family was very important to her. She loved hunting, fishing and camping. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorials in Arlene’s name to First Church of the Nazarene, 1136 Broadway St., Elmira, NY 14904.
