Arlene H. Smithwas born March 7, 1924 in Jobs Corners, PA the daughter of the Burton and Edith (Crumb) Holecek passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center at the age of 91. Her loving husband, Edward H. Smith; brother, Kenneth Holecek; sister, Beatrice Holecek preceded her in death. Arlene is survived by her beloved children: Harry (Susan) Smith of pine City, NY; Deborah (Stewart) Armstrong of Royersford, PA; grandchildren: Melinda Smith, Shawn (Sarah) Smith, Brittany Schnautz and Katie Schnautz; Jacklyn Armstrong, Corissa Armstrong; and 6 great grandchildren; sister, Marjorie (William) McDonald of Elmira, NY; along with several nieces and nephews. Arlene was a lifetime member of the Wellsburg Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, member of the former Wellsburg Methodist Church and currently a member of the New Beginnings Church. She was also a member of the Wellsburg Senior Citizen's and the Brand Park Beautification Committee. Arlene retired from Iszard's and was currently working at Gerould's at Woodbrook Assisted Living Residence, Inc. She loved Pioneers Baseball and enjoyed her Card Clubs. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Monday, August 31, 2015 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PMand Tuesday, September 1st from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Funeral services celebrating her life will follow at 11 AM. Reverend Leann Zeck will officiate. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
