Arthur R. â??Art�? Bacon

Age 86 of Elmira Heights, NY passed away Monday, June 2, 2003 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Arthur was the son of the late Arthur and Minnie Richardson Bacon. He was born in Elmira on April 2, 1917.Surviving Arthur are his children; Arthur R. (Alice) Bacon Jr. of Millerton, Pa; Jean (Dennis) Smith of Millerton, Pa; John (Sharon) Bacon of Millerton, Pa; mother of his children, Merial Allen of Millerton, PA; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Anne Bacon of Elmira; special friend, Agnes Dildine of Elmira Heights. Arthur was predeceased by his son, Richard (Dick) Bacon in 2001 and his brother, Francis Bacon.After many years at Artistic Card, Art retired from Howell Box Co.He then drove a mail truck for Peter Martin Mail Contractors.He loved stock car races, country music, and collecting baseball cards. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY on Thursday, June 5, 2003 from 3 to 5 PM with funeral services following immediately at 5 PM.Rev. Edward Crandall will officiate.
