Arthur Douglas Bertelsen

Bertlesen, Arthur D., Born on May 2, 1926, to Louis and Alice Bertlesen in Perth Amboy, NJ. He was the father of 6 children, Bob (Sandy), Joe, Nancy, Kathy (Larry) Rhode, Doug and David.His parents and sons David and Joe pre-deceased him, David in 2000 and Joe in 2005.Arthur is survived by his son Bob (Sandy), daughters Nancy and Kathy (Larry) Rohde, son Doug and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Arthur was a WWII veteran of the US Army.He retired from American Bridge after more than 30 years of service.He was a big Kyle Busch fan in NASCAR. He loved his Yankees and Giants.At the family's request there will be no calling hours.Burial will take place at the Woodlawn National Cemetery.Thanks to the nursing staff and aides of the 6th floor of the Chemung County Nursing Facility for all their care and attention they gave Arthur for the past 4 years and especially Nan the van driver.RIP "Smiley".In lieu of flowers Art had a special place in his heart for dogs so a donation to the SPCA would be appreciated.
