Barbara K. Cole

Barbara K. Cole Was born April 5, 1947 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of the late Ray and Harriett (Casterline) Rouse. She went to be with her Lord on Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility at the age of 69. Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 49 years: Allen B. Cole; beloved sons: Shawn Cole of Reisterstown, MD; Scott Cole of Elmira, NY; Darren (Jennifer) Cole of Elmira, NY; sister: Patricia Sherfey (Glenn Lawrence) of Pine Valley, NY; nephew: Christopher Sherfey of Janesville, WI. For many years Barbara volunteered with the Wings of Eagles Discovery Center. She also worked at ARC and BOCES with the disabled, sever and profound children, loving and caring for them as if they were her own. Barbara loved and enjoyed riding her bicycle all over town. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM. Funeral services celebrating her life will follow the visitation at 2 PM. Her friend, Reverend Doug Forman will officiate. Interment will follow in the Chemung Cemetery, Chemung, NY.
