Of Cadet Terrace, Elmira, NY went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, March 4, 2004 peacefully at St. Joseph?s Hospital. She was born in Elmira, NY the daughter of Benton and Lillie (VanZile) Frisbie. Her loving husband, John C. DePue Sr. and beloved father, Benton, predeceased her. Her survivors include: mother, Lillie Quackenbush of Elmira, NY; son and daughter-in-law, John and Susan DePue of Pine City, NY; daughter, Donna Davenport of Clearwater, FL and James Davenport of Elmira, NY; sons and daughter-in-laws, William and Elizabeth DePue of Pine City, NY; Richard and Debra DePue of Elmira Heights, NY; step-brother, Ernest Quackenbush of Westfield, PA; grandchildren, Michele and Andrea Davenport, Michael and Timothy DePue, Brian (Jody) DePue, Sarah DePue and Kristen (Gary) Horn; great grandchildren, Chloe and Calista DePue, Alexsis DePue and Julia Horn. Barbara was a member of the Westside United Methodist Church since 1955. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post # 154 of Elmira Heights and retired from the Elmira City School District after several years of dedicated service. At her request there will be no prior calling hours. A private viewing will be held for the immediate family followed by interment in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Westside United Methodist Church, 744 W. First Street, Elmira, NY 14905 on Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at 11:00 AM. The Reverend Donald Guiles will celebrate the services for Barbara. A time of reflection and refreshment will follow the service at the church.
