Barbara A. (Kelley) SpencerAge 86, was a long-time resident of the Pine City community. Barbara passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2015. She was born on January 31, 1929. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence T. Spencer on February 21, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Roscoe W. and Esther (Walker) Kelley. She is survived by her children: son, Craig L. (Mary Lou), grandchildren, Sara E. (Keith) Vakiener, great grandchildren, Emma and Jack Vakiener; son, Matthew (Carrie) Spencer, grandchild, Danica Spencer; son, Steven (Melody) Spencer, grandchild, Jeffrey, great grandchildren, Sylva and Noemie Spencer; son, Lee (Charity) Spencer, grandchildren, Thomas, Collin, and Landen; son, Brian (Luanne) Spencer, grandchildren, Kathryn (Mike) and Brian (Laurie) Spencer, great grandchildren, Jacob, Garrett, and Zander Spencer; daughter, Sherry L. Spencer; daughter, Suzanne (Roger), grandchildren, Andrew (Kathleen) Stamp and Justin D. Stamp; her sister, Judith Nagy; brother, Jack E. Kelley; and many nieces and nephews. Barbara retired from Notre Dame High School where she enjoyed seeing many children succeed in their dreams! Barbara was an avid reader and dog lover. She loved to crochet and when her health was better she loved flowers and gardening. She had crocheted afghans for all but one of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also proud to be the grandmother of 5 Eagle Scouts! She helped for many years with class reunions of her high school which started a group of friends meeting once a month, "The Breakfast Club". A memorial service will be held for family and friends on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 5:00 PM at the Southport Community Center in Chapel Park.
