Loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, age 86 of Pennsylvania Ave, Pine City Joined her loving husband Carl in Heaven on Friday, April 11, 2008 at St. Josephs Hospital, Elmira. Beatrice ( Bea) was born December 5, 1921 in Windber, PA. the daughter of the late Clyde and Dora ( Grush) Penner. She was predeceased by herhusband Carl on December 14, 1998, brothers: Charles, Bernard, Howard and Harold, sister Doris and children Carol Ann, and David. Married on March 22, 1944 in Pine City, Carl and Bea celebrated 50 happy and loving years together. Bea operated a family home licensed day care center in her home for many years. She was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church for over 50 years, a member of the Pine City Ladies Auxiliary for over 50 years, a member of Chemung County Ladies Auxiliary , NY Central Ladies Auxiliary & NY State Ladies Auxiliary, Southport Historical Society, Southport Kiwanis Club, Senior Citizens of Wellsburg & Ashland, Brand Park Beautification committee, a volunteer for Meals On Wheels for many years and a volunteer at Samaritan Center in Elmira. She is survived by her loving family: Gary ( Barbara) of Pine City, Gene ( Sandra) of Lindley, Bruce ( Ann ) of San Juan Capistrano, CA, 5 grandchildren: Paul, Jackie, Keith, Tara and Amy, 5 great grandchildren: Danielle, Steven , Amanda, Rebecca, and Meganlynn, brother Oscar of Wellsburg, sister Ella ( Merle) Huston of Sebring, FL , sister inlaw, Susanne Penner, and manywonderful friends and neighbors. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave, Elmira on Sunday April 20, 2008 from 1:00 to 3:00 and 5:00 to 7:00 PMFuneral and Committal Service to follow calling hours at Sunday at 7:00 PM The Reverend David Hayes will officiate. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Elmira, NYMemorials in Beas memory may be made to New Beginnings United Methodist Church, Meals on Wheels, 150 Fox St., Elmira or to the Brand Park Beautification.
