Bernadine (Butters) Brown

Brown, Bernadine, (Butters) age 96 of Broad Acres in Wellsboro, formerly of Pine City and Liberty PA. She was born in Liberty, PA on April 20, 1919. The daughter of the late Glen and Mabel (Norman) Butters.She is survived by daughters: Patricia Benson of Pine City, NY, and Diane (Gary) Kreger of Athens, PA; two grandchildren: Scott Kreger of Columbus, Ohio, Pamela (Spencer) Gerow of Corning, NY; great grandchildren: Amanda Grace Kreger, Lauren Ashley Gerow; along with several cousins.She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald “Brownie” Brown in 2014; sister: Amber Shook; sister in law: Eleanor Knipe; brother in law: Dean Brown.Family and friends are invited to gather at the Pine City Baptist Church, 1516 Pennsylvania Avenue, Pine City, NY on Monday, November 23, 2015 from 11:30AM to 1:00PM. Funeral services will follow the calling hours at 1:00PM. Graveside committal prayers will be shared in the Salem St. Paul Cemetery, Liberty, PA. Bernadine loved and cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a faithful member of the Pine City Baptist Church, and the Women’s Guild, and the Mary Wells Chapter No. 452 Order of Eastern Star. She loved growing her own plants and working in her garden. She will always be known in the community for her tomato plants, her wonderful baked pies, seamstress skills, knitting and crocheting.Those wishing may make donations to the Pine City Baptist Church, 1516 Pennsylvania Avenue, Pine City, NY 14871.
