Bernard (Ben) Cuer, Age 97, of Pine City, NY, Born on March 10, 1928 the son of James and Hazel Cuer. He passed away Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Bethany Manor. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife of 65 years Margaret Cuer. He was also predeceased by his siblings Emma Jean Bateman, John Cuer and Marjorie Fluman. He was honorably discharged from the US Army having obtained the rank of Corporal serving from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean Conflict. Ben was retired from the United States Postal Service where he was a Rural Carrier for 30 years. He was a 50 year member of the Elmira Heights American Legion. Ben cherished the time he spent at his beloved Seneca Lake and spending time with his family and friends. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching his New York Yankees. Surviving are his three sons -  John (Nancy) Cuer of West Henrietta, NY, Mickey (Beth) Cuer of Montour Falls, NY, and Michael (Betsy) Cuer of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren - Gretchen Ferraro, Katie Cuer, Christina Cuer, Erin Davis, Meaghan Ham, Ryan Cuer, and Sean Cuer; his great-grandchildren - Alyssa Cuer, Gianna Ferraro, Jackson Ham, Ian Ferraro, Owen Ham, and Anna and Lily Davis; great-great grandchild Noah Ferguson; his sisters - Betty Batrowny, and Shirley Mucci; and several nieces, nephews and friends. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY 14901. Funeral services will be held at the conclusion of hours at 1 PM with Pastor Greg Wixon officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Elmira, NY. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Bethany Courtyards and Bethany Manor. The family extends their heart felt thanks to Beth for her constant love, care and kindness. Her devotion and compassion will always be remembered. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
