Betty Jane Evans

Betty Jane Evans of Fort Myers, FL and Horseheads, NY passed away peacefully Saturday,October 19, 2013. Betty was born in Syracuse, NY to William and Pearl (McPherson) Field. She moved to Elmira, NY in 1963, where her husband Richard founded Elmira Heat Treating. She is survived by her daughter, Judith (Bud) Brinkerhoff and 2 grandsons, Jason (Ashley Novidor) Brinkerhoff of Pine City, NY; Jeff (Wendy) Brinkerhoff of Auburn, NY; great grandchildren, Michelle, Tyler, Morgan, Harper and Jacob; great great grandson, James, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard in 2006, sister Dorothy (Goodrich) (Carl) Pommer, brother, Howard (Helen) Field. She was an avid golfer and bowler in Elmira and in thePine Lakes Community in North Fort Myers where she had lived full time since 1987. She graduated from Beau Arts Beauty Culture School in Syracuse as a beautician and cosmetologist. She loved spending time with family, and also loved animals, especially her dog friends, Buddy, Molly and Lucky. Her wishes were no calling hours. Her ashes will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at Woodlawn National Cemetery with a private family service. Aluncheon to celebrate her life will be held at Holiday Inn Riverside Elmira, NY at 2:00 PM Saturday October 26, 2013. All friends and family are welcome to attend.
