Betty Jane Gardner

Age 85, born March 24, 1931 in Westfield, PA, the daughter of the late John Russell and Wilma Mary (Chamberlain) Stebbins, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Elcor Health Services, Horseheads, NY. Betty Jane was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Clifford E. Gardner; beloved son, William R. "Bill" Gardner; brothers, Richard R. Stebbins and Robert Stebbins. She is survived by her loving daughter, Mary Lynn Gardner of Elmira; adored granddaughter, Paige Buzzetti of Rochester, NY; sister-in-law, Wanda Stebbins of Huntsville, AL with her daughter, Debbie (Jerry) Andress and their daughter; along with special friends, Fred Roberts and Lesley A. Knapp; and her feline companions, "Snickers" and "Okie". Betty Jane was a Veteran of the US Navy and proudly served her country. While in the Navy she met Clifford and they were married in Kingsland, GA. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Betty Jane was a housewife and a self-employed seamstress. She was a proud member of the DAR. In her spare time she was very involved and loved doing genealogy. At her request there will be no prior services.
