Betty Louise Rahall

Rahall, Betty Louise (Herman) age 92 of Elmira. Passed away peacefully in the presence of her family by her side on Wednesday morning, March 26th, 2014 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Betty was the daughter of the late Harry and Bessie (Page) Herman, April 18th, 1921. She is predeceased by her husband Charlie, Daughter Sheila Davies and her 5 brothers and sisters. Surviving is her Son: Manford (MaryPat) Herman; her beloved grandchildren: Michelle (Jack) Wright, Lori Davies, Mardi Herman, Manny Herman, Matthew Herman, Marci (Mike) Taylor, Meghan Herman, Michael Herman, Maureen (Mark) Miller, Marybeth Herman, loving great grandchildren: Khloe, Samantha and Ashley, Nicholas, Hannah, Michael, Katelynn, Gabriella, Brooklyn, and Peyton; along with special nieces and nephews including special nephew Fred Bomysoad. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY Sunday, March 30th, 2014 from 3:00PM to 6:00PM. Funeral services celebrating the life of Betty Rahall will be held on Monday, March 31st, 2014 at 11:00AM. Graveside services will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery. Reverend Donald Rockwell will officiate. Betty lived for her family, as they were her most cherished jewel in life. She was very well respected by her family and throughout the community. Her strong will and driven spirit was always apparent even during her final days. Betty was proud to serve her community with her husband Charlie, operating Rahall’s Food Market for 65 years. She was a great cook and loved donating her time to her ladies group “Bags of Baghdad”.
