Was born February, 19, 1931 in Ridgeway, WI the son of the late Carl and Buella (Chatt) Olson, passed away very unexpectedly on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at his home at the age of 78. His loving wife of 42 years, Dorothy Ann Olson, along with 3 sisters and 1 brother predeceased him. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-laws, Ann M. and Edward M. Ackley of Elmira, NY; Susan E. and Robert D. Wild of Redding, CA; sons and daughter-in-laws, James C. and Belinda L. Olson of Horseheads, NY; Richard B. and Patricia M. Olson of Horseheads, NY; much-loved grandchildren, Scott Ackley; Geoffrey Wild (Kortnee Sutton), David Wild; Christina and Matthew Olson; Kerry (Brian) Utter, Richard Olson; adored great grandchildren, Skyler and Katelynn Utter; Sawyer Wild; loving friend, June Ford of Elmira, NY; brother, Dean (Bernadine) Olson of Montford, WI; sister-in-law, Loretta Arnold of Elmira, NY; brother-in-law, Karl Kriston of Horseheads, NY; along with several nieces and nephews. The love and care given to "Brue" by his beloved grandson, who lived with his grandfather, meant the world to him and the Olson family. Mr. Olson was a Veteran of the US Navy retiring after 20 years of dedicated service. He also retired from AT & T in 1990 as a systems technician after 21 years of devoted service. "Brue" was a faithful communicant of St. Mary's Church and enjoyed singing in the Resurrection Choir at the church. He was a member of the Horseheads B.P.OE. Elks Lodge, was an avid gardener with a tremendous 'green thumb'. "Brue" was a good friend to many people and will be missed dearly by all. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 3rd at 11:30 AM in St. Mary's Church 224 Franklin Street Elmira. The Reverend Rick Farrell will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery where the Chemung County Veterans Honor Squad will accord Military Honors to Mr. Olson.
