He has been a devoted member and provided strong , continuous leadership for over 35 years. He was known for his title as “Mr Coffee”, organizing events, creation of a senior’s group, calling everyone to make sure they were always informed…, but his leadership is what was most notable. Officially, he served as Chairperson of the Adminstrative board for more than 35 years. But unofficially, Carl provided Westside, a kind of Quiet, Consistent, Trusting leadership that many found inspirational and enabling. He set high standards, always challenging yet always inquiring. Carl taught leadership by leading with integrity and leading well. As one member said it- “In whatever role he has served – including Ad Council chair- he’s been fair, honest, a diplomat, a mediator…always a gentleman”. Carl will be sorely missed. He was Past President of the Southern Tier retired Lions Club, 55 year, Member of Ivy Masonic Lodge #92?? , Past President of the Chemung Schuyler, Tioga Masonic Golf Association.
