Carol A. Martin

Martin, Carol A. age 62 of Elmira, NY Passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 27th, 2015 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. She was born in Elmira, May the 13th, 1952. The daughter of the late Gerald and Mildred (Towner) Strong. She is survived by her children: Dave (Lisa) Strong of Elmira, John (Cassie) Peters of Elmira Heights, Janet (Les) Brown, Marianne Ziegler, Richard Ziegler, Rebecca Andres all of Elmira, along with 10 grandchildren: Joshua, Katie, Amanda, Stephanie, Travis, Lauren, Logan, Autumn, Makenna, Daniel; 4 great grandchildren: Joslynn, Braedon, Jordan, and Jacob; Brothers: Gerald (Sherrill) Strong; Sister: Susan (Robert) Allen; Brother: James Strong; and Brother: Joseph (Sue) Strong, and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, Carol is predeceased by Brothers: Richard Strong, Jack Strong. Carol worked for the New York State Park at Sullivan’s Monument for 5 years. She was active member of the Elmwood Baptist Church. She enjoyed being a foster mother for over 20 years. Family was her greatest joy in life. Playing cards, and reading James Patterson. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY Friday, January 30th, 2015 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM. Funeral and committal services will be held there at the conclusion of the calling hours at 7:00PM. Her dear friend and Pastor David Sullivan will officiate.
