CAROLYN M. PURVIS Of Horseheads, NY Passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center at the age of 67. She was born December 2, 1940 in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Clayton and Alta (Reeves) Oslager. She is survivedby her loving husband of 50 years, Leland "Bob" Purvis of Horseheads, NY; beloved children, Jeannine (Michael) Mouzon of Elmira Heights, NY; Roberta (Jay) Hulse of Leadore, ID; Leland Purvis of Spokane, WA; Kent (Melissa) Purvis of Saginaw, TX; Leslie (VaLynn) Purvis of Los Alomos, NM; Jeffrey (Michele) Purvis of Elmira, NY; Danielle Hricko of Elmira, NY; 26 adored grandchildren; sister, Norma (Ernie) Chaapel of Gillett, PA; brother, Daniel (Lee) Oslager also of Gillett, PA; along with several nieces and nephews. Carolyn enjoyed doing handwork and spending her time with family. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Horseheads, NY. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY on Thursday, October 9, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Friday, October 10th from 10:30 to 11:00 AM in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 1060 West Broad Street Horseheads, NY. Funeral services celebrating Carolyn's life will follow the visitation at 11 AM. Interment will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
