Catherine Welch Parsons

Age 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at Elcor Health Services, Horseheads, NY. She was born March 29, 1925 in Corning, NY the daughter of the late William and Mary (Briggs) Welch. Catherine was predeceased by her loving husband, Leo Griffith; sisters, Agnes Turner, Pauline Holmes and Josephine Weeks; brother, Bernard Welch. Her survivors include: nieces, Mary Margaret Velasquez of Denver, CO; Janet Welch of Middleburg, VT; Carol Elaine Moss of Montour Falls, NY; nephews, John Thomas Weeks and David Weeks of Elmira, NY; great nephews, Douglas Moss Jr. of Montour Falls, NY; David Weeks of CA; Matthew Weeks of Elmira, NY; great nieces, Monica Kopcow of Greely, CO; Erica Sanchez of Littleton, CO; Carrie Ann Moss also of Montour Falls, NY; along with several great nieces and great nephews. Catherine retired from the New York State Office of the Aging after several years of faithful and dedicated service as their clerk. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY on Tuesday, June 22, 2004 from 5 to 7 PM. A Prayer Service will be held there on Wednesday at 1:30 PM followed by interment in the Coopers Plains Cemetery in Coopers Plains, NY.
