Cathleen Strang

Cathleen (Twist) Strang, a native of Corning, NY and resident of Elmira, NY passed away on June 3, 2025. She was 69 years old.

Cathleen was a fun-loving person and an avid sports fan who was dedicated to her family. She was often found playing cards or cheering for the Elmira Jackals. She was also a passionate fan of racing and of the greatest NASCAR champion to ever compete – Jeff Gordon! She never met a stranger, and would always go above and beyond to help anyone in need. Her warmth and generosity will be missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by: her mother Joyce (Twist) Higbie; her maternal grandparents – David and Mildred Higbie; her uncle John Higbie, and his wife Betty; her aunt Jo Anne Straulka and her husband Stanley; and her cousin Theresa Higbie.

She is survived by: her children – Dawn Vosburgh, Deanna Morse (David Morley), Amy Chilson (Charles), Michael Pacheco (Bridgett Liquori), Richard Pacheco (Ashley White), and Darcelle Tomlin (Peter Tomlin); her grandchildren – Amber Vosburgh, Kyle Vosburgh, Damian Morley, Joshua Morse, Brandon Burdick, Michael Morse, William Wallace, Dominique Wallace (Shaleeta), Konrad Wallace, Nicholas Wallace, Tanisha Wallace, Michael Pacheco (Savannah), Myron “Joey” Pacheco, Gabriella Pacheco, Conor Pacheco, Sonyae Strang, Demetrick Tomlin, Malaysia Tomlin, and Na'Niya Walker; her step-grandchildren - Lillyauhna, Tyeler, Giovanni, Jackson, and William; seven great-grandchildren; her brother Michael Twist (Diana); her sister Edith Twist; her nieces - Jennifer Palmer ( Keith), and Katelyn Twist; her nephew Michael Twist (Ellen); and her cousins – Nancy Stage, Steve Higbie, and Joe Higbie.

She will be laid to rest privately at the convenience of the family.

Many thanks to the kind and talented nursing staff at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center for the loving care they provided to Cathleen through the years as struggled with her health.
