Charlene L. Galpin

Charlene L. (Durfee) Galpin Age 64, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Charlotte; brother, Terry; sisters, Marlene and Arlene; nephews, Mathew and David; mother-in-law, Viola; father-in-law, William E.; special friend, Jerry; father, Raymond. Charlene is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Thomas; son and daughter-in-law, Rex and Julie; daughter and son-in-law, Joy and David "Elmer"; grandchildren, Justin, Troy andJaycee; Erika, David, James and Grayson; great granddaughter, Raelynn; brother, Gary; sister and brother-in-law, Eileen and Mickey; along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; "adopted children", Lisa Hosley and Charles Bennett and a host of many others. Char started as a cashier with P & C Foods and worked her way up to Deli Manager until she retired with 20 years of dedicated service. She loved her dogs and enjoyed fishing. Charlene's front door was always opened to everyone. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Friday, February 19, 2016 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM and 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Funeral services celebrating her life will follow the visitation at 6 PM. The Reverend Dan Dykes will officiate. Interment will take place in the Woodlawn Cemetery at the convenience of her family.
