CharlesMelnykAge 94 of Elmira, NY passed away on Thursday March 21, 2013 at Elcor Health Services. He was predeceased by his wife Betty (Hulslander) Melnyk on May 11, 2008.Charles is survived by his nephew, William (Francine) Hulslander of Elmira; stepsons, Larry (Patricia) Howland of Rochester, NY, Steve (Sha-ron) Howland, of Alabama,; sister, Anne Uram of Bath, NY,; son, Robert Melnyk of Elmira, NY; daughter, Shirley Howser of Rochester, NY; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sisters in law, Vera Kwasnik of Horseheads, NY, and Janice Saunders of Pine City, NY; brother in law, Jack Hulslander of Elmira Heights, NY.Charles retired from Corning Incorporated after many years of service. He loved traveling, camping, fishing, hunting and bowling.Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira/Southport, NY on Sunday March 24, 2013 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM with Funeral and Committal Service there at 5:00 PM, Lay Pastor John Knapp will officiate. Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family. Those wishing may make donations to The American Cancer Society, envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff of Barton’s Adult Home, the staff at Elcor Health Care and the staff of Care First for the kindness and wonderful care given to Charles.
