Charles L. Straight

Age 91, of Pennsylvania Ave. Pine City, NY passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2003 at St. Joseph?s Hospital Elmira, NY. He was born November 16, 1911 in Marsh Hill, PA, the son of the late Charles R. and Susan B. (McWhorter) Straight.His brother, Ray Straight, predeceased him.Charles married the love of his life; Lillian Driscoll and they have enjoyed 62 wonderful years together. Other survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Anthony Forte of Leesburg, VA; Susanne and Walter Pruitt of Woodstock, GA; granddaughter, Yvonne (Daniel) Goodwin of Elmira, NY; great grandchildren, Danielle and James Goodwin of Elmira, NY; brother, Ralph (Margaret) Straight of Elmira, NY; sister, Florence Eva (Harry) Wilkins of Palmyra, NY; sister-in-law, Gert Straight of Elmira, NY; along with several nieces and nephews. Charles retired from the Bendix Corporation as purchasing agent after several years of faithful and dedicated service. He was a veteran of the US Army and proudly served his country. He was a lifetime member of the Union Cooley Lodge # 95 F & AM. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY on Wednesday, September 3, 2003 from 1 to 4 PM. Funeral Services will be held there at the conclusion of calling hours. (4:00 PM) The Reverend Patrick Haley will officiate. Interment will take place privately in the Woodlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the American Cancer Society, P. O.
