Cheryl Combs Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Friend to all.Age 62 of Pine City, NY passed away in peace at her home surrounded by her loving family on Friday July 31, 2009. Cheryl was born in Elmira, NY the daughter of the late Walter and Virgilene Waterman Green. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Joel Combs, children, Patrick (BeLinda) Combs of Pine City, NY, Jill (Brian) Manchester of Pine City, NY, canine companion "Molly"; grandchildren, Michael Crowley, Jordan Combs, Codi Combs, Heather Wakefield, Collin Burns, Kennedy Burns, and Riley Manchester, great grandchild, Justice Wakefield, brother, Thomas (Sandra) Green of Selinsgrove, PA, sister, Deborah (Steve) Polovick of Pine City, NY, several nieces and nephews along with numerous loving friends. Cheryl was a payroll Clerk for 24 years with F.M. Howell Box Company, Elmira. She also worked at Sears Roebuck and Company as a sales clerk, and Watts Reality, selling real estate in the local area. Most recently Cheryl worked for O'Brien's Investigation Service. Cheryl will be remembered for her positive attitude on life. She was a beautiful lady whom was the center of her family. She had a great ability to see solutions to life's challenges. She was always willing to help anyone in need, was rarely seen in public without her best friend and loving husband Joel. Cheryl enjoyed her old home in Pine City, and her time on Keuka Lake.She had a devoted love of all animals, especially newborn animals of all kinds. She cherished riding her horses, and she took great pride in her perfect penmanship. Most of all, the love she had for her family was her greatest gift. She will forever be carried in the hearts of those whom were fortunate enough to witness her love, strength, and courage. The family will receive friends at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue Elmira, NY on Tuesday August 4, 2009 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with Funeral and Committal Services there Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM, The Reverend Donald Rockwell and Reverend Betty Bement will officiate. Graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Those wishing may make memorials to the Southern Tier Hospice and Palliative Care Inc., 11751 East Corning Rd., Corning, NY 14830 or Reins Of Hope, 339 Daniel Zenker Dr. Horseheads, NY 14845A 'Candle of Remembrance' may be left for the family in obituaries atwww.olthof.com .
