CHRISTINE E. BEMENT Town of Southport Resident Was born June 5, 1952 in Elmira, NY the daughter of Kenneth and Margaret (DeNerio) DeVore passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at the age of 57. Her beloved brother, Terry DeVore predeceased her. She is survived by her loving parents, Kenneth and Margaret of Horseheads, NY; husband, Cecil M. Bement of Wellsburg, NY; daughter, Lesley M. Bement of Elmira, NY; son, Terry Bement of Buffalo, NY; brother, Kenneth "Butch" DeVore Jr. of Horseheads, NY; step-daughter, Donna (Tim) Hicks of SC; along with 3 step-grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren. Her dear and close friends, Connie Judd, Dolores Wilcox, Carol White, Peggy Peters and Jean McCormick also survive Christine. She was a former dedicated employee of the J.C. Penny Company at the Arnot Mall for several years and was a vocalist with the Resurrection Choir at St. Peter & Paul's Church. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 10:00 AM in St. Peter & Paul's Church 161 High Street Elmira, NY. The Reverend Richard Farrell will celebrate Christine's Mass. Interment will follow in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY 14904.
