Christopher A. Swarthout

Christopher A. Swarthout Sr. Age 49 of Elmira, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 27, 2017. Survived by parents, Diane & Duane Swarthout; brothers, Tim (Connie) Swarthout, Scott Swarthout; sister, Melissa (Dan) Rinker; daughters, Ashley Swarthout, Katlyn (Brian) Barr, Gabrielle Swarthout; sons, Christopher Swarthout Jr. "C.J.", Corey Swarthout, Ethan Swarthout; five grandchildren, Isabelle, Madaly, Xoie, Vaughn and Mason; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; as well as a host of friends, too numerous to list. Those who knew him, knew his generosity, cooking skills, love of all music, hiking, camping, being on the river, gardening and nature in general. Chris had many carpentry skills and worked as a floor sander, roofer and builder until diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease which left him unable to work. Chris had stated that when he passed he wanted no services, so instead we will be planting a memorial garden in his memory at the family farm.
