Clara Stewart Brewer

Age 92 at her home near Millerton, PA surrounded by loving family, Wednesday February 22nd, 2012. She was born in Hornellsville, NY September 23rd, 1919, the daughter of the late Harold and Louise Schwartz Stewart. Her sister Betty Sherwood and brother Harold Stewart predeceased her. Surviving Clara is her husband of 67 years, Bradley L. Brewer of Millerton; Daughter and son in law: Carol (Michael) Prince of Marlton, NJ; Sons and daughter in law: Robert S. (Donna) Brewer of Tioga, PA; David P. Brewer of Wellsville, NY, Donald B. of Millerton, PA; Sister and brother in law: Beverly (Joe) White of Suffern, NY; Sister in law: Doris Stewart of Hornell, NY. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, February 25th, 2012,her 67th Wedding Anniversary, at the Jackson Summit Baptist Church, 2851 Rt. 328, Millerton, PA from 11:00AM to 1:00PM. Funeral services will be held at the conclusion of the calling hours at 1:00PM. Graveside services will follow at the Alder Run Cemetery, Millerton, PA. The Reverend Benjamin Lanning will officiate. Clara spent most of her married life in the Millerton area. She helped to manage the family farm until their retirement in 1980. Sheserved in the Jackson Summit Baptist Church wherever her service was needed, including playing the organ and keeping church records. She was known for her brown bread and other dishes she cooked for fellowship dinners and other events of the church.
