Clarence K. Mayer

Was born April 12, 1921 in West Pike, PA the son of the late DeForrest and Martha (Kilbourne) Mayer passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center surrounded by his loving family at the age of 85. His 5 brothers and 2 sisters predeceased him. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Emily (Cook); beloved son, Randy Mayer of Cayuga, NY; much-loved grandchildren, Jeffrey and Jordan Mayer of Michigan; brother, James (Ethel) Mayer of Elmira, NY; brother-in-law, Owen Cook of Harrisburg, PA; along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Mike as many affectionately knew him, was a Veteran of the US Army proudly serving his country from 1940 to 1945 during the Battle of the Bulge and WW II. He retired from American LaFrance after 40 years of dedicated service as production scheduler. Mr. Mayer was a faithful member of the Centenary United Methodist Church. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY 14904 on Friday, March 30, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, March 31st from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Funeral Services will follow the visitation on Saturday at 11:00 AM. The Reverend Joseph Kim will officiate. Interment will take place in the Woodlawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family will provide their own flowers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to a charity of ones choice in memory of Mike.
