Clayton Russell Oslager

May 2, 1918 — November 27, 2006

Was born May 2, 1918 in Caton, NY the son of the late Daniel and Mildred (Impson) Oslager passed away peacefully on Monday, November 27, 2006 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Clayton married Alta Marie Reeves December 3, 1938 in Ulster, PA. Prior to her death June 28, 2001 they celebrated 62 wonderful years of life and love together. He is survived by his beloved children, Carolyn (Leland) Purvis of Horseheads, NY; Norma (Ernie) Chaapel of Gillett, PA; Daniel (Lee) Oslager also of Gillett, PA; along with 16 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, Aunt Fanny Impson and many cousins. Clayton was employed with Trayer Products with over 30 years of dedicated service. He was a faithful member of the Coryland Presbyterian Church and the Loyal Order of the Odd Fellows in Elmira. He loved to camp, enjoyed woodworking and was a jack of all trades. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. Funeral Services honoring his life will be held there following the visitation at 3:00 PM. The Reverend Donald Rockwell will officiate. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Elmira, NY. A Candle of Remembrance may be left for his family in obituaries at www.olthof.com
