Died at age 88 after a long battle with cancer in Bethany Manor, Horseheads. His parents were John H. and Sarah(Dunn) Oldroyd. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 9th, 2005. He has a surviving brother, Charles and his wife, Betty Oldroyd of Dade City, Florida; a loving stepdaughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Gary Novick; beloved grandchildren, Melody Paul, Kimberly Johnson, and Adam Novick; and several great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews. His wife, Ruth Ferguson Oldroyd and brothers, Fay, Merton, and Kenneth Oldroyd predeceased him. He was employed by General Electric, United Electric, and after retirement, worked as a senior aide for the Elmira City School District. He was an Army corporal in World War II, serving in the European Theater. He went for several years to the Hand in Hand Free Methodist Church. Kipper was a loving father and doted on his grandkids and great-grandkids. He loved picnics and watching children play. He was a genuinely nice and kind man and will be truly missed.Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY on Tuesday, October 11th, 2005 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral and committal services will follow at the conclusion of the calling hours at 8:00 PM. The Reverend James Payne will officiate.
