Age 72, of Spaulding Street, passed away very unexpectedly on Thursday, December 15, 2005 at St. Joseph?s Hospital on the fifth anniversary to the day of his wife?s death. Clifford was born March 7, 1933 in Gillett, PA, the son of Maurice and Shirley (Gates) Roy. He married M. Arlene Thomas December 22, 1956.Prior to her death on December 15, 2000, they had celebrated 44 wonderful years of life and love together. He was also preceded in death by his dearly missed and loved daughter, Valerie Roy; father, Maurice; mother, Shirley; step-father, William ?Bill? McBennett; sister, Lorraine Wintermute. His survivors include his loving children and their spouses, Sheilia ?CeCe? and Allen Silvernail of Elmira, NY; Rene and Mike Butler of Elmira, NY; Clifford W. and Beth Roy Jr. of Mosherville, PA; sister, Anna (Harold) Pautz of Millerton, PA; brother, Ralphford (Barb) Roy of Gillett, PA; along with several priceless and loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Clifford was a Veteran of the US Army and proudly served his country from 1953 to 1955. He retired from Kennedy Valve after 30+ years of dedicated service as a machinist. He enjoyed purchasing and playing ?scratch off? tickets in his free time. His favorite hobby of all was being a loving father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by everyone.Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira, NY on Sunday, December 18, 2005 from 2 to 4 PM. Funeral Services honoring his life will be held there following the visitation. (4:00 PM) Reverend Dr. Robert Rundall will celebrate Clifford?s services.
