CLYDE LEE BROWN"Coonie""Brownie"1926-2009Was born December 22, 1929 in Shunk, PA the son of the late Ray L. and Anna (Leighton) Brown passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving and caring family at the age of 79. His sisters, Jennie Summers, Clara Stermer, Flossie "Tillie" Reedy, Margaret Norton and Ida Johnson, along with his brothers, William H. Brown and Floyd "Brownie" Brown predeceased him. Clyde is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Virginia (Hamilton) Brown; beloved children, Kim Brown, Maynard Brown, Tammy Brown and Joseph (Freedom) Brown; sister, Flora Burdick; along with 9 grandchildren {with 2 great grandchildren on the way}, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of friends. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Friday, February 21, 2009 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Funeral Services honoring his life will follow the visitation at 1 PM. The Reverend Belvy White will celebrate "Brownie's" service. Interment will take place in the Maple Grove Cemetery Horseheads, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to Virginia Brown to defray the funeral expenses at 1310 Davis Street Elmira, NY 14901.
