Clyde A. Knowlton

age 70 of Pine City, NY passed away very unexpectedly Friday, October 29th, 2010 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Clyde was the son of the late Harry and Myrtle Schmelzle Knowlton on February 3rd, 1940. He is survived by his wife 44 years Sandra Bergh Knowlton, Son: Michael (Michelle) Knowlton of Middletown, NY and Daughter: Tari (Jeff) Janeski of Pine City, NY. Grandchildren: Katie and Zach Knowlton of Middleton, NY. Clyde held a Masters degree in teaching from Elmira College. He taught Mathematics for 35 years in both the Elmira School District and Horseheads. He was a devoted AQHA member, farmer, and carpenter who loved his four wheeler.Family and friends are invited to gather at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira/Southport, NY, on Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Family will receive friends at Bethany Lutheran Church, 256 South Walnut St., Elmira before the funeral services on Wednesday, November 3rd, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Funeral services will be held there at 1:00PM. Interment will be held privately at the family's convenience.The Reverend Joseph Cotner will officiate. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorials in Clyde's name to the Bethany Lutheran Church.
