Cyrill B. â??Cy�? La Bare

Age 59 of Boyd Dr. Elmira, NY passed away unexpectedly while at St. Joseph?s Hospital on July 7, 2003. He was the eldest son of Cyrill and Elizabeth LaBare of Endicott, NY, born on September 26, 1943. Cy worked at the American LaFrance and Elmira Floral Products. He was an avid and dedicated member of many area youth programs. He was a devoted volunteer to Elmira Small Fry and Tom Sawyer Youth League. Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years, Sally LaBare; daughter and son-in-law, Yvette and Howard McHenry of Elmira;son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Robin LaBare of Florida; and daughter and son-in-law, Natasha and Bill Beecher of Elmira. In addition to being a dedicated husband and father, Cy was truly committed to his grandchildren; Harry, Trevor, and Kaitlin McHenry, Bryce and John Beecher, and Alyssa LaBare.Additional survivors include his parents, Cyrill and Elizabeth LaBare; his siblings and their families, Gene LaBare, Elizabeth Leonard, and Jaun LaBare, all of Endicott, NY. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY on Wednesday, July 9th, 2003 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held there on Thursday, July 10th, 2003 at 10:00 am. Pastor John McConnell will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Peter and Paul?s Cemetery, Elmira.Following the sharing of committal prayers, a luncheon will be held at the Southside Alliance Church, 530 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY to celebrate and remember Cy?s life.A ?Candle of Remembrance? may be left for the family at www.olthof.com.
