Daniel "Tom" Thomas Corey

Daniel Thomas "Tom" Corey Was born February 1, 1934 in Elmira, the son of the late Daniel A. and Opal (Repair) Corey. Tom passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family at the age of 83. His beloved son, Richard Daniel "Rocky" Corey preceded him in death on February 3, 2016. Tom is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Marguerite (Scott) Corey; beloved children: son, Timothy Patrick (Michelle) Corey; daughter, Tammy (Dave) Hawkins; daughter-in-law, Roxanne Corey; sister, Beverly Williams; along with 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and his 14 bowling balls. He is also survived by his feline friends, "Fluffy" and "Jelly". Daniel was a Veteran of the US Army, proudly serving his country from 1952-1955. He was a dedicated employee for Dalrymple, Remington Rand, American Bridge and BOCES, retiring from the Elmira Corning Regional Airport as airport technician manager. Tom was an avid bowler, a master wood worker and, in his earlier years, coached little league. Family and friends are invited to gather at New Beginnings United Methodist Church, 300 East Miller Street, Elmira, NY on Saturday, April 15, 2017 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm. A Memorial Service celebrating Tom's life will follow the visitation at 4:00 pm. Reverend Leanne Zeck will officiate. Interment will take place on Monday, April 17th at 11:00 am in the Woodlawn National Cemetery where the Chemung County Veteran's Honor Squad will accord Mr. Corey Military Honors.
