Darlene N. Knickerbocker

Was born in Penn Yan, NY on September 9, 1942, passed away at home on Monday, March 25, 2013. A retiree of Corning Glass, she dearly loved her children and grandchildren, and was an avid Bucktail camper, road tripper, crocheter, bell collector and scat player. She is predeceased by her mother, Catherine Glossenger, her husband of 51 years, LaVerne Knickerbocker, infant son, Sheldon and siblings, Ronnie Glossenger and Aleene Short. Dolly is survived by her children, Madrina Knickerbocker (Jeff Koons) of York, PA; LaVerne Knickerbocker Jr. (Dale) of Beaver Dams, NY; Sharon Sleeman (Doug) of Elmira, NY; Mona Lisa Stone (Bill) of Troupsburg, NY; Jody Knickerbocker of PA; Selena Wandell (John) of Elmira, NY; Tasha Westmiller (granddaughter/daughter) of Elmira, NY; her siblings, Sharon Osburn (John Merrone), Jim Glossenger (Pat), Audrey Seymour (Gary) and Judy Welch (Bill);sister-in-law, Sandy Converse, as well as 16 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. Dolly went to all of the races at Woodhull Raceway with her beloved husband, LaVerne and enjoyed watching every race. In honor of Dolly's wishes there will not be any formal services. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to the American Diabetes Association Syracuse Office 356 North Midler Ave. Syracuse, NY 13206 in her memory.
