Darlene L. Matthews

Age 56 of Elmira, NY, passed away on Saturday May 2, 2009 at home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Lewis Matthews, Sr.; children, Lewis (Carmen) Matthews, Jr., Tom (Kim) Matthews, Jason (Melissa) Matthews, Henry (Terri) Matthews, Novella (Dave) Kinner, Scott (Jesse) Matthews, Joe (Kelly) Matthews, Amanda (Jaak) Hickey; sisters, Sandy (Gene) Steinhelper, Jackie (Bernie) Barnes, Yvonne (Steve) Kent, Roxy (Rickey) Beach, Pam French, and Cindy (Mike) McLaughlin; brothers, Eric (Roxy) Stranger, Mark (Lisa) Stranger, and Doug (Karen) Hollenbeck; 22 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren; special nieces, Erica and Ashley Kent; also several other nieces and nephews; special sister-in-law, Betty Belloma; and special friends, Velma and Jim Gilmartin.Darlene was very active and dedicated to the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America and retired from the Chemung County Nursing Facility. Family and friends are invited to call at Olthof Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 Pennsylvania Ave., Elmira/Southport, on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 from 3:00 to 4:00 PM with Funeral and Committal Service there Wednesday at 4:00 PM.
