Was born December 12, 1935 in Dunkirk, NY the son of the late Rynard F. and Frances A. (McPhail) Fors passed away peacefully on Monday, August 20, 2007 at St. Josephs Hospital at the age of 71. David is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Ethel (Peterson) Fors; son and daughter-in-law, David F. and Valerie Fors Jr. of Greene, NY; daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and Johnny Letchworth of Greenville, NC; sister, Lillian Bullock of Rochester, NY; brother, Robert W. Fors of San Jose, CA; business partner, Patricia M. Ross of Chemung, NY; grandchildren, April Fors, Amy Oswald, Erin Roberts, David W. Fors and Tyler Letchworth; step-grandchildren, Lee Letchworth, Juliana Dail; along with 2 great grandchildren, 4 step-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. His canine companion, Zach and feline supervisor, Tigger also survive him. David attended the Dunkirk High School and graduated from Norwich Senior High School in 1954. For nine years he was employed by the New York Central Railroad and for eight years was employed by the Raymond Corporation. He was self-employed for the last 35 years at Fox Run Farm and Fox Win Farms raising Morgan horses and running a full service horse farm. Mr. Fors was the Town Assessor for several terms in Chemung and Wellsburg, NY. Since the late 1970s he was an active member of the New York State Morgan Horse Society. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to Celebrate Davids life at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY 14904 on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at 3:00 PM. Lay Pastor John P. Knapp will officiate. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to the Reins of Hope P. O. Box # 206 Elmira, NY 14902 or to the American Cancer Society 1316 College Ave. Elmira, NY 14901. A Candle of Remembrance may be left for the family in Obituaries at www.olthof.com
