David Leroy Mattison

David Leroy Mattison Age 76, of Elmira, NY. Passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at home. David was born on September 12, 1944 in Elmira, NY, the son of the late Rose Mae (Gardner) and Lyman Alexander Mattison. He was a coach at the Mark Twain Little League, cub master for Cub Scouts, loved baseball, fishing and spending time with his family. David is survived by his wife of 53 years, Cheryl Mattison; children, Julianne (Philip) Bacon of Gillett, PA, Joseph Mattison of Elmira, NY, Daniel (Niki) Mattison of Elmira, NY, Roger Mattison of Elmira, NY, Cheryl (Rob) Kimball of Elmira, NY, Jesse (Ashley) Mattison of Beaver Dams, NY; eighteen grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Katherine Liles of Fassett, PA, Clara Hulbert, of Horseheads, NY, Carl Mattison, Rochester, NY, Lois (Sue) Bates of Elmira, NY, several nieces and nephews; good friends, Larry Dean of Elmira, NY,Nancy Butler of Elmira, NY, Paul Baker of Elmira, NY, and Tom Knapp of Florida. He was predeceased by his son, David L. Mattison, Jr.; grandsons, Daniel (Lil-man) Mattison, Jr., Steven L. Bacon; brothers, Kenneth, twins, Donald and Herman, Lloyd, Dale and twin sister Doris Ann Mattison. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
